𝐂𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐧 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐲 𝐩𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐛𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐧𝐞𝐭𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝟑𝟑𝐫𝐝 𝐍𝐋𝐀𝐁𝐂

Cauayan City, Isabela | The Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) – Southern Isabela Chapter, in collaboration with PCCI-Isabela and PCCI – City of Ilagan, and in partnership with the Provincial Government of Isabela, Local Government of Cauayan City, and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Region 2, hosted the 33rd North Luzon Area Business Conference (NLABC) at the Isabela Convention Center, Cauayan City, Isabela on 8-9 August 2024.

 

This highly anticipated annual conference, with the theme “Empowering North Luzon for a Sustainable Future,” brings together leaders, industry experts, and stakeholders from all over the region to promote cooperation and investigate prospects for sustainable economic growth. The key strategic elements of the 33rd NLABC included meaningful dialogue on business and sustainability, economic growth, and investment promotion.

 

Mr. Markson Louie S. Tan, President of PCCI Southern Isabela, along with Mr. Gary Ka Hong U. Chong, Regional Governor of PCCI Region 2, delivered their welcome remarks and even highlighted their expectations of building networks during the conference. DTI R2 Acting Assistant Regional Director Henry O. Conel, Jr., also extended his message of support for the said activity.

 

Moreover, PCCI North Luzon Area Vice President Atty. Maria Amalia Tiglao-Cayanan, and Cauayan City Mayor Caesar S. Dy, Jr., followed by an exhibit tour that showcased local innovation and enterprise.

 

DTI R2 showcased exhibits of investment opportunities to the various stakeholders in North Luzon. The agency also brought in local products from Region II MSMEs at the trade fair section of the conference, which generated over P300,000.00 in sales together with the various MSMEs from the Province of Isabela.

 

The conference concluded with the presentation of the NLABC resolutions, which demand greater support for local enterprises in the region as the DTI was tasked with overseeing export promotion plans to help local producers meet international standards and access global markets through intensified capacity-building training. Additionally, DTI’s involvement through innovation will be instrumental in setting up incubation hubs, especially for those focused on coffee, cacao, and wine product development, and innovation hubs tailored to specific MSMEs’ needs.

 

The 33rd NLABC not only served as a platform for exchanging ideas but also as a catalyst for driving economic progress and sustainability in North Luzon, paving the way for a more prosperous and sustainable future.
